Listing Guidelines

Hypertools is a curated directory of tools for builders, creators, and teams who value quality over quantity. If you're considering submitting your tool, start here. These guidelines explain what we look for and what we stand for.

Why We Curate

In an era where AI can generate endless directories and anyone can scrape together a list, human judgment matters more than ever. Hypertools isn't algorithmic. Every tool here is evaluated by real people who care about quality, usefulness, and integrity.

We believe curation is a service. The tools featured here have earned their place through genuine merit, not through keyword optimization or automated scoring. This manual approach takes more time, but it's what keeps Hypertools valuable.

What We Won't List

Some categories simply don't align with our standards or audience:

  • Crypto/Web3/NFT projects focused on speculation or tokens
  • Gambling, betting, or casino tools
  • Adult content or dating platforms
  • MLM, get-rich-quick schemes, or financial "systems"
  • AI tool aggregators or directories (including competitors to Hypertools)
  • Tools primarily designed to game algorithms (SEO spam tools, engagement bots, fake review generators)
  • Surveillance or monitoring tools intended to track people without consent

If your tool falls into these categories, please don't submit it.

Our Standards

Does It Deliver?

We test what you claim. If your landing page promises one thing and the product does another, or does it poorly, that's disqualifying. Core functionality needs to work.

Is It Legitimate?

Operate within the law. Respect copyright, handle data responsibly, and comply with relevant regulations. Shady practices, dark patterns, or exploitative terms will get you rejected.

Does It Matter?

Tools should solve problems worth solving. We're not interested in featuring yet another barely-different take on existing solutions unless you bring something genuinely new to the table.

Will People Enjoy Using It?

Your interface should make sense. We're not judging artistic vision, but if users can't navigate your tool or it breaks on mobile, that reflects poorly on both quality and consideration for your audience.

Is It Trustworthy?

Misrepresentation kills credibility. Be straight about pricing, limitations, data usage, and what your tool actually does. We verify claims, and users report discrepancies.

Premium Listings

Our manual review process means standard submissions typically take time to evaluate. Premium listings receive priority review, allowing you to bypass the standard queue and get listed significantly faster, usually within 48 hours rather than weeks.

Premium doesn't change our standards. Your tool still needs to meet every guideline above. What changes is timing: you get in front of our review team immediately rather than waiting in line.

Delisting & Removal

We reserve full discretion to remove any listing at any time.

Tools may be delisted for:

  • Decline in quality or functionality
  • Pattern of user complaints or negative experiences
  • Discovery of misleading claims or unethical practices
  • Legal or regulatory violations
  • Abandonment or lack of basic support
  • Changes to your product that conflict with our standards

Removal decisions are final and made at our sole discretion. We're building a directory people can trust, which requires protecting our standards even when it means making tough calls.

Ready to Submit?

If your tool reflects genuine craft, solves real problems, and respects its users, we'd like to see it.
